The You Matter Birthday Bags Project (YMBB)

YMBB serves to address and support the mental health of children experiencing food insecurity by providing them with birthday cake kits, ensuring that every child, regardless of financial situation, is able to celebrate their birthday with a cake. So far, BDK has given 700+ birthdays to children across southeasten Pennsylvania, reminding them that they deserve to feel seen and celebrated on their special day. 

Art à la Carte!

In January of 2025, Art à la Carte!, a charitable art show opened. As a collaboration between artist Rick McKnight and BDK founder Sarah Kokas, this show featured McKnight's dessert-themed paintings and Sarah's gourmet cakes at the opening, the fun, high-energy opening attracted 120+ participants who delighted in the show. The proceeds of the show were all donated to Family Promise of Montgomery County, which supports families experiencing homelessness.
